Now
that PeopleSoft has been selected
as the software vendor for
the new student information
system, the Student System
Project is concentrating on
selecting a consulting firm
that can provide experience
and expertise on PeopleSoft
implementations in universities
of comparable size and complexity.
“An RFP (Request for
Proposals) has been issued
by Procurement Services,” reports
Charles Grisham, Director
of the SSP. “The closing
date for receiving proposals
is July 13. Review, presentations,
and negotiations will follow,
taking us probably until
mid October before we have
a signed contract.”
In the meantime, SSP team
members have begun training
on the PeopleSoft applications. “It’s
a steep learning curve,” says
Susan Barr, Associate Director
of the SSP. “Initial
training will give us an
introduction to the language
and conventions of PeopleSoft
at a basic level. Future
training will delve into
how the applications are
set up and function.”
A new terminology will emerge
from the PeopleSoft student
system implementation. Click
