Marga Odahowski was appointed as Director of Studies in March of 2001. As Director of Studies for the International Residential College, she mentors and teaches on the topics of sustainable living and personal mastery.
Marga has been on the faculty with the University of Virginia for twenty years. In the fall of 2010, she is teaching a University Seminar Course, Mindful Leadership. As a consultant, Marga developed the Quiet Mind Smart Mind program for the MBA Executives Program at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business and the Mindful Leadership course at the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce. She has also developed travel and learn classes to various countries around the world.
Marga holds a Master in Counseling Education from the University of Wisconsin, where she specialized in health psychology. She began her career in the counseling profession, evolving into teaching, consulting, executive development and coaching. She is a member of the International Positive Psychology Association, Mindfulness in Education Network, Association for the Contemplative Mind in Society and the International Coaching Federation. She is the founder of the company Buddha Planet, a wellness company located in Charlottesville Virginia.
Hi everyone! I'm the Director of Studies for the International Residential College. My job is to build and create a healthy and caring community and provide mind expanding educational opportunities for our students. As the Director of Studies I organize all academic and non academic classes at the IRC. I enjoy teaching on topics related to balanced living, leadership, design thinking and community building.
In addition, I work with the IRC Council Ministers, providing leadership training and organizational development. I enjoy meeting students and provide both informal and formal mentoring for personal and professional development.
Outside of the IRC, I teach a USEM Mindful Leadership and Quiet Mind Smart Mind at the Darden MBA Executive Program.
You will see me at various events and programs mingling around to get to know you and your interests. Please introduce yourself to me if we do not meet at one of the gatherings.
