Welcome to the IRC! If this is your first year at the IRC, you will find that you have entered a wonderful "living and learning" community. We have lots of activities planned, and I hope you make an effort to join in some of them. We have developed a whole series of field trips and educational experiences for you to sample this year. There is a great line-up of guests for our Conversazione Dinner series on Wednesday evenings and you just sign up for the one or two that sound most interesting to you. Join some of our cooking classes, day trips to Washington, D.C., or Monticello, or just come for the Wednesday morning "Breakfast of Champions" or the Tea on Thursday afternoons. But mostly, take advantage of the fact that you are living in a truly multicultural environment...your best learning experiences will likely be from each other.
Carol Brown, Brad's wife, is an active member of our community. Carol puts together our Conversazione Dinner Series and attends all of the banquets and parties. She is the fiscal administrator for the International Studies Office so you might see her when you visit Minor Hall for your travel documents or study abroad planning. Brad and Carol host dinners and other events in their home in Big Morea, located just behind Hoxton. Be sure to look for her famous brownies at many of the IRC food events!
