Q: Do I have to be an international student to apply?
Any and all UVA students can apply! You don't have to be an international student. (In fact, about 55% of IRCers are not international students.)
Q: Do I have to apply as a first year to get in?
UVA students from all years can apply. We have first years, second years, third years, and fourth years.
Q: Can I apply to live at the IRC for only one semester (spring or fall)?
The IRC will accept applications for the spring semester, but with the caveat that a space is not guaranteed. If you would like to apply for a spot in the spring semester, please just write Spring 2013 for the date on the application.
Q: Must I speak a language fluently to live at the IRC?
The IRC is not made up of language houses. If you would to be immersed in another language, please look into the Language Houses (Shea House

Q: Do I have to do the application every year?
A: Once you're in the IRC, you don't have to reapply annually, even if you choose to study abroad for a year. However you do have renew your housing contract and pay the deposit fee!
