We're really excited that you want to be part of the IRC community. Here's a checklist for applying to the IRC.
1. Check out the UVA Housing Division website for basic info.
2. Browse this site to read more about the IRC, its facilities, and the community.
3. Watch our movie above made by real IRC students to learn more about our people and programming, and specific details about our buildings.
4. Download the 2012-2013 IRC Application.
5. Submit the IRC application by the priority date of November 14th. Email the application to our Office Manager, Jill Jones, at jjn@virginia.edu.
6. Complete the Housing application by the deadline stated on their website. On this application, mark the International Residential College as your first choice on the Online Housing Application and Agreement Form. (Or you may be assigned elsewhere even if you are accepted to the IRC.

Q: Do I have to be an international student to apply? A: Any and all UVA students can apply! You don't have to be an international student. (In fact, about 55% of IRCers are not international students.) Q: Do I have to apply as a first year to get in? A: UVA students from all years can apply. We have first years, second years, third years, and fourth years. Q: Can I apply to live at the IRC for only one semester (spring or fall)? A: The IRC will accept applications for the spring semester, but with the caveat that a space is not guaranteed. If you would like to apply for a spot in the spring semester, please just write Spring 2013 for the date on the application.
Q: Must I speak a language fluently to live at the IRC? A: The IRC is not made up of language houses. If you would to be immersed in another language, please look into the Language Houses (Shea House, La Casa Bolivar, Maison FranÇaise, the Russian House, and the German House).
Q: Do I have to do the application every year? A: Once you're in the IRC, you don't have to reapply annually, even if you choose to study abroad for a year. However you do have renew your housing contract and pay the deposit fee!
