Noah Egge was appointed as the Scholar in Residence in August of 2005. Before joining the IRC Staff he had been a first-year Graduate Advisor with the Residence Life Office.
In his capacity as the Scholar in Residence, Noah works with the other staff to create supportive and healthy community. He has taught courses that focus on environmental issues and can often been found helping with the weekly Breakfast of Champions and other IRC-wide events.
Noah is a triple Hoo, and holds a Masters in Environmental Sciences and Secondary Education. He has raised money for breast cancer research and donated hair to Locks for Love, a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. In 2009 he received the prestigious Knowles Science Teaching Fellowship and is completing his doctorate in Environmental Sciences before beginning a career as an educator.

Hello everyone! My name is Rowan Sprague, and I am from Richmond, Virginia. I am a third year Civil and Environmental Engineering major and this is my third year at the IRC as well. As Sustainable Food Coordinator, I am planning lots of workshops to promote local food and farming awareness, and I am organizing field trips to the Farmers’ Market and farms in this area. This past summer I interned at Morven Farm (not too far from here), and I enjoyed every single minute of it! When I am not doing schoolwork or farming, I love to walk or hike (especially in the rain), catch falling leaves, make color-coded spreadsheets, and canoe. I am so excited to get to know everyone, and please stop by if you have any fun food ideas or just want to chat (Lewis 206)!
