About Us

Who We Are

The International Host Programs (IHP) coordinates activities that provide friendship, volunteer assistance, and hospitality to international students, scholars, and their families while they are here at the University of Virginia.

The IHP is comprised of three programs &mdash the Community Host Program, the Scholars Welcome Network, and the International Women’s Group. The IHP Board of Directors, made up of community volunteers, sets policies, plans and implements IHP events and programs, and advises the three programs sponsored by the IHP.

What We Do

Our goal is to promote global awareness &mdash to develop an understanding and appreciation of other cultures, languages and countries.

How You Can Get Involved

IHP encourages community involvement and the development of international friendship bonds. We promote cultural exchange among our members and strive to acquaint international newcomers with the local community and its members.
