Short-term Lodgings

General Information:
- The IC has six guest rooms available for international visitors coming to the University of Virginia for short-term study, research, and collaboration. (IC house guests are permitted to have friends and relatives stay in their room for an additional fee and with prior approval from the IC.)
- The IC is located in a residential neighborhood, a 15 minute walk from the U.Va. Grounds and a 5 minute walk from a University bus stop. Commercial shopping is within walking distance and on the bus lines.
- There is a resident manager living on site, weekly housekeeping service with bed and bath linens, coin-operated washer and dryer, cable TV in the living room and lounge, and access to the U.Va. wireless network.
- Guests should be aware that the IC holds multiple English language programs and social and cultural events each week as well as being used as meeting and reception space for many U.Va. departments and organizations.
- Guests may use the kitchen, library and public areas of the IC, except during times when these spaces are reserved for programs and events held by the IC and other U.Va. organizations.
- Guests may park a car in the IC's lot for up to 2 weeks; longer-term parking is not permitted.
- Reservations are required. Minimum 3 nights stay. Maximum 3 months stay. Because preference is given to monthly rate guests, reservations for stays of less than three weeks are accepted no earlier than one month prior to arrival.
Lodgings Rates and Payment Information:
Private room with shared bath (D,E,G,H):
Per night, for stays of 16 nights or less -
- $40 single occupancy,
- $60 double occupancy.
Per month, for stays of more than 16 nights -
- $650 single occupancy, $22 per additional night,
- $975 double occupancy, $33 per additional night.
Private room with private bath (B):
Per night, for stays of 16 nights or less -
- $40 single occupancy,
- $60 double occupancy.
Per month, for stays of more than 16 nights -
- $750 single occupancy, $25 per additional night,
- $1125 double occupancy, $38 per additional night.
Private "cozy" room with shared bath (L):
Per night, for stays of 13 nights or less -
- $40 single occupancy.
Per month, for stays of more than 13 nights -
- $550 single occupancy, $18 per additional night
- All rates have an additional 5% tax.
- Departments can pay with a PTAO. Visitors can pay with cash, traveler's checks and personal checks on a local bank account. We do not accept credit cards. If possible, please make payment in the exact amount, not requiring change.
- Payment is expected within three days of arrival for the first month's stay. Future payments are expected within 3 days of the start of the new month's stay.
- The IC office is open 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday to receive payments. If you wish to make payment after office hours, you may give it to the resident manager.
