Sundays at the Center

An afternoon of world music
featuring
Heather Maxwell with
Robert Jospé (drums) and
Lucy Kilpatrick (keys)

February 17th, 2007, 3 pm

U.Va. professor and musician Heather Maxwell comes to the IC with
Charlottesville percussionist Robert Jospé and keyboardist Lucy Kilpatrick to provide a lecture/performance on West African music. The performance will involve a blend of world music that draws inspiration from traditional West African rhythms, instruments, and melodies. Stick around for a yummy (and free!) reception featuring the delectable cuisine of Shebeen.

Sundays at the Center provides a forum for students, scholars, faculty, staff and friends of the University to share their international experiences and backgrounds with the University community and the greater Charlottesville/Albemarle area. Sundays at the Center usually take place one Sunday afternoon a month between 3:00 and 5:00pm. The schedule for upcoming Sundays at the Center may also be found on the International Center's Activity Calendar.

If you are interested in conducting a Sundays at the Center event, please contact the International Center.
