J-1 Scholars

J-1 Scholars most often visit UVA to conduct research in of the many diverse departments at the University. A J-1 scholar does not pursue a course of study but instead works within a specific department and for a specific academic advisor to conduct research in his or her field of expertise. Most often J-1 scholars have a Ph.D. or are in the process of completing a Ph.D.
