VENDOR SELECTION:

JMU's first choice was Oracle for Financial, PeopleSoft for HR and Software Resources Northwestern for Student. Oracle was to be the primary contractor. The deal fell through because of price tag. Subsequent vendor evaluation led to JMU's choice of PeopleSoft. JMU has been the first higher education institution to implement many of the higher education versions of PeopleSoft's products.
