Oracle HR/Payroll is Coming…Are You Ready?
June

Oracle
HR/Payroll Implementation Date Moved to September 26
The Integrated
Systems Project Executive Committee has decided to postpone the Oracle
HR/Payroll go-live date until September 26, 2002. These additional 90
days will allow the ISP, University Human Resources staff, and schools
and departments to test and learn how to operate the Oracle applications
more fully so that everyone is well prepared at go-live and we all have
a shorter and smoother stabilization period.
An added
benefit to the September go-live date is that it allows University employees
to get beyond the fiscal year-end close and the busy human resources/payroll
transaction months of August and September without the additional burden
of beginning to operate a new system. All information from those months
will be converted into Oracle at go-live.
Please note:
- Revised
dates for entering the last transactions into the legacy system (Employment
System and OPAS) will be forthcoming.
- Time
and leave will continue to be reported on the current bubble sheets
and automated time sheets until further notice.
- There
will be no dim period for current Oracle users from June 20 to June
24; the system will operate on the normal schedule during this time.
- The training
schedule remains the same at this point, but refresher sessions will
be offered closer to the September go live date.
- The fixed
assets application will go live July 1, as scheduled.
The Oracle
HR/Payroll applications have proven themselves to be fully capable of
doing the University's human resources and payroll business. It is now
our goal to use the lessons of our phase 1 implementation to ensure a
smoother transition for phase 2.
