The
Phases
The Integrated
Systems Project will take a multi-year, multi-phase approach. Each
phase will follow established methodologies to monitor progress, identify
and mitigate risk, and develop and maintain quality within the project.
Finance
This phase will provide a replacement for the University's current
financial system. The chart of accounts will be redesigned and a powerful
project-based costing system will be installed. The new integrated
accounting system is designed to, over time, provide enhanced reporting
for schools and departments with less effort than is required using
the current accounting system (FAS).
Human
Resources
Both the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) applications and
the Payroll applications will be implemented concurrently. These applications
have significant dependencies, as well as dependencies with the financial
applications previously installed. Web and self-service applications
are included in this phase.
11i
Upgrade
Version 11i of the Oracle applications will offer more intuitive
navigation, a new look and feel, and enhanced functionality. It
will also position the project to move to the new student information
system and a data warehouse.
Student
Information System
This phase will provide a replacement for the University's current
student information system. The new student information system is
expected to provide more complete integration with the other applications
(Finance and Human Resources/Payroll) and to allow the creation
of a more
complete electronic student record that will serve multiple purposes.
