Registration and Payment Procedures

Registration and Payment for ON GROUNDS Courses

Third- and fourth-year students may register for January Term beginning 7:00 a.m. on November 20.  All other students may begin registration at 7:00 a.m. November 21.  Registration will be completed through the Student Information System (SIS). Tuition and fees are due by December 31, 2014.

Students may register for only one January Term course.

Students who register for an On Grounds January Term pay by the credit hour. January Term courses are three-credits. Current UVa students are not charged an additional activity fee.

Visiting Students

Visiting students admitted to January Term may register for their course any time after 7:00 a.m. November 21.  Registration and payment are completed through UVa’s Student Information System (SIS). Instructions on SIS registration and payment are provided in the acceptance email.

Students may enroll in only one January Term course.

Students who register for an On Grounds January Term pay by the credit hour. January Term courses are three-credits. Visiting students will pay an activity fee for January Term as listed here.

 

Registration and Payment for STUDY ABROAD Courses

Students accepted to a J-Term study abroad program are responsible for study abroad tuition and program fees once they have committed to participation in a program. Committed students are registered in the SIS by the International Studies Office; students may view their bills in the SIS through student self-service. For January Term Study Abroad programs, the following payment schedule applies:

  • 30% of tuition and fees plus airfare at 100% (when included in the program price) is due 15 days from registration.
  • The remaining 70% of tuition and fees is due by 12/1/2014.
