Registration and Payment Procedures

January Term Registration Dates are November 17 - November 21, 2008.

To register for a January Term course, a student must provide a completed January Term registration form (available in Garrett Hall B019) and payment in the form of a check.

It is NOT possible to register for January Term courses on-line through ISIS. Registration for January Term courses is completed in-person in the January Term Office, Garrett Hall B019. The instructor's signature is not required on the registration form.

Students may register for only one January Term course.

Students must pay for their January Term course when they register.

Students who register for a January Term non study abroad course pay by the credit hour. January Term courses are generally three-credit courses.

Undergraduate: VA Resident $233.00
Undergraduate: Non-VA Resident $800.00

Full payment is due at the time of registration. Payment must be made in the form of a check payable to the University of Virginia. Cash, credit cards, and debit cards will NOT be accepted.

Any past-due amounts owed to the University of Virginia for semester tuition, parking tickets, library fines, etc. must be paid BEFORE registration for January Term can be completed. Students with past-due charges should resolve the charges with Student Financial Services in Carruthers Hall BEFORE attempting registration for January Term.

Students whose financial aid* for January Term does not cover the entire cost of their January Term course must pay the balance at registration.

* The priority filing deadline for January Term financial aid applications is October 10, 2008. Awards will be announced by the week of November 3, 2008. For more information and the application, see Financial Aid.
