Registration and Payment Procedures
Third- and fourth-year students may register for January Term beginning 3 p.m. on November 16. First- and second-year students may begin registration at 3 p.m. November 17. Registration will be completed through the Student Information System (SIS).
Students may register for only one January Term course.
New for 2010 visiting students are invited to apply for January Term. Visiting Students must carry at least a 2.75 GPA and be in good standing with their home institution. To apply as a visiting student, complete the application found here: www.sis.virginia.edu/visitingStudent.pdf and mail or fax it to the January Term Office. After you application is processed and you have been accepted, you will receive an e-mail with registration instructions.

Students who register for a January Term non study abroad course pay by the credit hour. January Term courses are generally three-credit courses.

Students must have completed the FAFSA and University Financial Aid Application by November 9 and must be enrolled in a January Term class to receive financial aid. Financial aid will not be posted until after course registration.
Students whose financial aid for January Term does not cover the entire cost of their January Term course must pay the balance by December 4, 2009.
