Registration and Payment for Study Abroad Courses

Only students who have been admitted into a January Term 2009 Study Abroad course may complete registration. Please visit the International Studies Office (ISO) website for application forms and instructions at www.studyabroad.virginia.edu. The application deadline for January Term 2009 Study Abroad Courses is October 1, 2008. Acceptances will be announced October 9, 2008. Any student planning to participate in a January Term study abroad course must attend a General Information Session on study abroad before applying to the program or registering for the course.

Registration for January Term 2009 study abroad courses will take place Friday October 10 through Friday October 17, 2008.  To register, students must pay IN-PERSON for the January Term Study Abroad program to which they have been accepted. January Term Study Abroad students will register and make payment at the School for Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) in Zehmer Hall, 104 Midmont Lane, (434) 982 5313. SCPS is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Acceptable methods of payment include cash, check, Mastercard, VISA, Discover, and American Express.

Recipients of Financial Aid should provide a copy of their January Term award e-mail at registration. Students whose financial aid for January Term does not cover the entire cost of their January Term Study Abroad course must pay the balance at registration (Oct. 10 - 17, 2008).*

All enrolled J-Term 2009 Study Abroad students are required to attend a mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation session. See program director for exact dates.

Students who complete registration and payment may drop a J-Term study abroad course by October 24, 2008. With notification of withdrawal prior to October 24, all fees, with the exception of a $300 administrative fee, will be refunded. Upon notification of withdrawal after October 24, all fees will be refunded, less the following: a $500 processing fee, any payments to third parties incurred on the student's behalf, and the $300 administrative fee.

Students who have not registered and paid by the October 17, 2008 deadline will be dropped from the program.
