Statement from Teresa Sullivan

Sexual misconduct and sexual violence have no place in UVa’s community of trust and respect. We define an incident of sexual violence or misconduct against our students as sexual harassment; non-consensual sexual contact, including sexual intercourse; sexual exploitation; stalking; and dating and domestic violence, also known as relationship violence. When we become aware of such an incident, we are required under federal law to respond and to investigate it, independent of any investigation that may be conducted by law enforcement.

I encourage you to use this “Just Report It” system to report any such incident that you may learn about, witness, or experience firsthand. Your report will be confidential and read by the designated University official, who will follow up promptly.

Thank you for helping us build a more caring community by putting a stop to sexual misconduct at UVa.
