Finals Weekend 2015 Announcements

Wheelchair Rental

Moving around the Grounds involves traveling through heavily congested areas. Guests requiring assistance may wish to rent a wheelchair in advance of Finals Weekend. Wheelchairs are not available through the University; however, they may be rented in advance from the following local companies:

National Seating and Mobility Charlottesville: 434-971-8808
Robertson Home Medical: 800-768-7847 or 434-973-7847

Due to the heavy demand for rental wheelchairs, orders should be placed by no later than May 8. Click here to view the University's Accessibility Map.

For specific questions, contact the Coordinator of Services for Persons with Disabilities at 434-924-3095 or by Wednesday, May 13.

Chuck It for Charity: An Easy Way for Students to Recycle and Benefit Others

On-Grounds Collection: April 30 - May 12
Off-Grounds Collection: May 19 & May 20

As students finish up the year and move out of their residence halls or apartments, they can donate their unwanted (but usable) furniture, appliances, nonperishable food, and clothing to local charities through the Chuck It for Charity Recycling program. Two drives take place each year, one for students living on Grounds and the other for students living off Grounds.

For complete details, including times and locations, please check the UVa Sustainability website.

Sign Up For Finals Weekend Text Messages

The University has set up a new service, uNotify, exclusively for Finals Weekend. By signing up, you will receive text messages notifying you of important Finals Weekend information, including updates and changes to the weekend's schedule. To subscribe to this service, text the word "uvagrad" to 79516. You will receive a confirmation message shortly after signing up. At the conclusion of Finals Weekend, you will be automatically unsubscribed from the service.

Please note: this service is different from UVa Alerts, the text messaging system that notifies registered users of imminent threats or hazards facing the University population.
