Director: W. Bradford Wilcox

Professor Wilcox is associate professor of sociology at the University of Virginia and a member of the James Madison Society at Princeton University. As an undergraduate, he was a Jefferson Scholar at U.Va. His research focuses on marriage, and on the ways that gender, religion, class, and children influence the quality and stability of American family life. He has published articles on marriage, cohabitation, fatherhood, and religion and family life in The American Sociological Review, Social Forces, The Journal of Marriage and Family, and The Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion. His research has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Washington Post, Time, CNN, NBC’s The Today Show, and numerous NPR stations.

Faculty & Graduate Fellows

The faculty and graduate fellows of the National Marriage Project pursue research on topics related to marriage and family life, attend NMP events, and contribute to the publications of the project.
