Director: W. Bradford Wilcox
Professor Wilcox is associate professor of sociology at the University of Virginia and a member of the James Madison Society at Princeton University. As an undergraduate, he was a Jefferson Scholar at U.Va. His research focuses on marriage, and on the ways that gender, religion, class, and children influence the quality and stability of American family life. He has published articles on marriage, cohabitation, fatherhood, and religion and family life in The American Sociological Review, Social Forces, The Journal of Marriage and Family, and The Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion. His research has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Washington Post, Time, CNN, NBC’s The Today Show, and numerous NPR stations.

Assistant Director: Skip Burzumato
Skip Burzumato is currently an adjunct professor of sociology at Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Virginia. For over twenty years he has worked and taught at various non-profit and educational institutions, including the University of Memphis, Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA, and the University of Virginia. His research focus during graduate school at the University of Memphis was on levels of religious commitment among undergraduate students. He has published articles for various publications pertaining to modern courtship and dating practices among young adults. He is a frequent lecturer and writer on various issues pertaining to marriage and the family.
