About the Minor
The Media Studies Program is proud to now offer a minor. The limited nature of the Program dictates that it be selective in the students it admits. In the past this has meant that many applicants would be unable to add Media Studies to their official curriculum. Those days are now over!
In order to declare a minor, you must visit the Media Studies Office in 401 Cabell Hall to obtain the form. MDST 110 and MDST 201 are recommended to be completed prior to declaring.
Note: Students wishing to minor in Media Studies must complete a total of 6 courses, or 18 credits. Students pursuing a minor in Media Studies are not permitted to take MDST 301, 401, 381, 496, 497, or 498. Those courses are restricted to majors. Unlike the Media Studies major, the minor does not require an application process. Any student who has successfully completed MDST 110 and 201 may declare a Media Studies minor. All courses for the minor must be taken for a grade (not Credit/No Credit).
