The Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Languages offers basic language classes in the following languages: Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Persian, Sanskrit, and Urdu. We also offer upper-level language classes and literature classes in most of these languages.

Students can gain an exemption from their College Foreign Language Requirement by demonstrating a "202-level" of proficiency in speaking, reading and writing one of the MESALC languages.
