FAFSA Completion Night  *Cancelled Due to Inclement Weather*

TUESDAY, JANUARY 21

5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

PVCC at the Jefferson School City Center, Louisa County High School, Orange County High School

Presented by the Virginia College Advising Corps and the U.Va. IDEA Fund

As a service project of the Virginia College Advising Corps (VCAC), College Advisers will assist local students and their families with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to apply for financial aid for post-secondary education.

The complexity of the FAFSA is known to be a significant barrier for low-income and first-generation students on the path to college.  VCAC College Advisers are specifically trained on the FAFSA, and can assist students and their families in navigating the form successfully.  In numerous college access studies, FAFSA completion has been proven to be the key barrier to college matriculation for many disadvantaged students.

This is a free service open to local high school students and their families, and pizza and drinks will be provided. A drawing will take place following the event and a door prize of $100 will be awarded to one lucky student who completes the FAFSA that evening.

VCAC is a joint venture of the University of Virginia and the National College Advising Corps, and is an AmeriCorps program.
