Day in the Life of a Healthcare Professional

Presented by the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, and the Medical Center
The health center shadowing event is an opportunity for area high school students and undergraduates to explore careers in health care, with an emphasis on the impact of diversity and inclusiveness on health care practice and research.
U.Va. undergraduates have the opportunity to shadow physicians in the clinic, while high school students are exposed to career and academic options in health care practice and research.
1-2 p.m. - Clinical Simulation Learning Center (Claude Moore Medical Education Building)
Clinical simulation will involved about 60-80 high school students from surrounding schools.
*1-5 p.m. - Shadowing opportunities in clinical areas. For undergraduate students only.
2-3 p.m. - Panel Discussion (Claude Moore Medical Education Building)
Student panel on influence and status of underrepresented professionals in Medicine and Nursing. Moderated by Preston Reynolds.
3-4 p.m. - The Use of Technology in Healthcare Research (Claude Moore Medical Education Building)
Moderated by Joel Anderson
4-6 p.m. - Speakers (Claude Moore Medical Education Building Auditorium)

Note: Free parking for this event will be available in the K2 parking lot, at the corner of Brandon Avenue and Valley Road (off of Jefferson Park Avenue.)
