The Center for Politics at the University of Virginia presents its award-wining documentary, "Locked Out: The Fall of Massive Resistance".
This one-hour documentary, produced in partnership with the Community Idea Stations, tells the stories of the students impacted by Massive Resistance following the 1954 Brown vs. Board of Education decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. The fight to end Massive Resistance was one of the first civil rights battles in the South. The film documents five Virginia localities, including Charlottesville, during the late 1950’s.
