Historically, Solidarity Day was a tradition carried out in the 1970s by which the Black Student Alliance and other University organizations would show their solidarity with international movements for justice and liberation. During this year's Community MLK Celebration the Black Student Alliance, Asian Student Union, and Latino Student Alliance seek to honor this history with a day dedicated to recognizing commonalities across communities on Grounds with respect to international human and civil rights.
This year's Solidarity Day will combine simple, public displays of solidarity around grounds with an evening forum and discussion in the Newcomb South Meeting Room at 7:00 PM.
