Doris Kuhlmann-Wilsdorf and
Edgar A. Starke Jr. award recipients at the 135th TMS & AIME meeting in San Antonio, Texas March 2006.

Doris Kuhlmann-Wilsdorf, University Professor Emeritus was elected TMS-AIME Fellow for the class of 2006 for her development of a unified theory for plasticity from the point of view of dislocation behavior.

   

 

 

 

 

 

Edgar A. Starke Jr., University Professor and Oglesby Professor of Materials Science and Engineering received the TMS-AIME Structural Materials Division Distinguished Materials Scientist/Engineer Award for his contributions to understanding aluminum alloy microstructure-mechanical properties-processing relationships, especially the fundamental effects of slip localization and development of technologically important Al-Li based alloys.
