The UVA Chamber Singers invite you to their Fall 2006 Concert on Thursday November 16th, at 8:00 pm in Old Cabell Hall. Led by UVA faculty conductor Michael Slon, and founded in the spring of 2005, the group is a select subset of the University Singers.

The program will feature Schubert's Mass in G, Bach's Cantata 61: Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland, and Telemann's Psalm 117. The works - written between 1714 and 1815 (when Schubert completed the mass at the age of 18) - offer a survey of sacred German choral music as it moves from the Baroque into the Classical era. The concert will feature UVA faculty Amanda Balestrieri, soprano and David Newman, baritone along with tenor James Burritt and faculty musicians from the Charlottesville and University Symphony Orchestra.

The concert is offered free of charge to the public. Free parking is available in the large lot on Jefferson Park Avenue, across the street from Cabell Hall. Handicap parking is available in the small parking lot adjacent to Bryan Hall. For more information please call (434) 924-3984 or visit
