The UVA University Singers invite you to their Fall 2006 Concert on Friday November 3rd, at 8:00 pm in Old Cabell Hall. Led by UVA faculty conductor Michael Slon, the group is the University's premier SATB ensemble, and was most recently heard at the gala events launching the UVA Capital Campaign.

The November 3rd program will include a variety of secular and sacred works for chorus, including well-loved works such as Bruckner's "Os Justi," Bartholomew's arrangement of "Shenandoah," and the "Alleluia" of Randall Thompson, a member of the UVA music faculty in the 1940s. The program will also feature works by Eastern European composers in preparation for an upcoming tour, including: Arvo Pärt's "The Beatitudes," Rachmaninoff's "Blagoslovi, dushe moya, Ghospoda" from the Vespers, and Gorecki's "Wislo moja, wislo szara" ("My vistula, grey vistula") performed in Polish.

The program will be dedicated to Yvaine Duisit, long-time accompanist for the University Singers and Oratorio Society, and beloved Charlottesville music teacher.

Tickets are $10 general/$5 students/5 ARTS$ and are available at the Cabell Hall Box office or by calling (434) 924-3984. The box office is open noon to 5pm on weekdays and two hours preceding each concert.
