Jerome Reed keeps an active performance schedule in the US and Europe, giving recitals, lectures, and adjudicating competitions. Recent performances include recitals at Orvieto Musicale in Italy, and a solo recital in New York City, in addition to performances in Hungary, Germany, Belgium, Austria, England, Uruguay and France. He has appeared as both soloist and chamber musician throughout the US. His recordings for the Capstone label have been broadcast over MDR in Germany, Australian National Public Radio and NPR. He holds MM and DMA degrees in piano performance from The Catholic University of America. He is professor of music at Lipscomb University, where he teaches private piano and courses in piano literature, piano pedagogy and collaborative piano. He is noted for his frequent performances of new music and has appeared at many major new music festivals. He has given over 35 performances of the Ives Concord Sonata and has given both the American and European premieres of most of the solo piano music of contemporary composer Elizabeth Austin. In addition to his work as a performer and teacher, he serves as chair of the music division of the Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts. He has also written numerous reviews of books and pedagogical materials for the American Music Teacher.
