Keith Underwood has won worldwide acclaim as an expert in the art of breath control, the leading modern successor to Arnold Jacobs. Underwood is also a highly distinguished flutist and on the faculty of New York University. He tours the world giving masterclasses which change profoundly the abilities of those who attend. The morning class is open to all wind players, woodwind & brass. The number of participants is limited to four, and he would like an additional wind chamber group to participate as well. There WILL be group activities involving auditors, so please bring instruments.

The afternoon class is for flutists, although all wishing to attend are welcome. Solo repertoire will be explored. There will be an accompanist provided. The number of participants is limited to five. However, there WILL be group activities involving auditors, so please bring instruments.

Keith strongly recommends that flutists attend both classes.

People wishing to be participants in either class must send a brief background and proposed repertoire to Alan Cox, Please send these by October 22nd.

Auditors are welcome and need not register.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THIS DATE: There will be a home football game on this day. Parking should be no problem for the early class, but those coming only for the afternoon class will have to allow extra time for traffic and parking. On grounds, the Newcomb Visitor Garage is the closest to Old Cabell Hall. There are many lots off grounds along University Avenue, which borders the grounds.

Underwood will also be available to teach some private lessons on Sunday, November 4th in Charlottesville between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm. His fee is $100/hour. Please also contact Alan Cox to set these up. First come, first served.
