Cello and Piano Recital

The Albemarle Ensemble will present the second concert of the 2007-2008 season of the University of Virginia Chamber Music Series on Monday, November 5 at 8:00 pm in Old Cabell Hall. The concert features cellist, Iris Jortner and pianist Einav Yarden.
Iris Jortner teaches cello and chamber music at the University of Virginia and is principal cellist of the Charlottesville and University Symphony Orchestra. In addition to her active participation at the University, she is also a member of the Rivanna Quartet. Jortner is a well-traveled musician and has toured in venues around the world. She has collaborated on recordings for Naxos, Live Classics, and Albany Records.
Also featured is Israeli pianist, Einav Yarden. She has performed as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Minnesota Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Jerusalem Symphony, and Plovdiv Philharmonic. Her performances in Israel, Europe and the Americas have won her several important international piano competitions.
Jan Radzynski (Ohio State U.) will also be present at the this performance.
The Program will include the following works:
Tickets for the concert are $20 General, $10 Students & 5 Arts$ Students and free for students 18 years and younger. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Cabell Hall Box Office at 434.924.3984. The box office is open noon to five on weekdays and two hours prior to the concert.
