New Parking

As we prepare for another spectacular season of events in Old Cabell Hall, we need to let you know about changes in parking. The large B-1 lot on Jefferson Park Avenue has been closed to make way for the University's South Lawn Project. As a result, parking for Old Cabell Hall events is shifting to the following locations, which are marked on the accompanying map along with walking and shuttle routes to the auditorium:

• Central Grounds garage, on Emmet Street under the University Bookstore. Open to everyone; parking charges apply (60¢/hr Monday-Saturday after 5PM and Sunday all day; $1.80/hr Monday-Saturday before 5PM).
• T-4 and E-3 Scott Stadium Parking Lot. Open to everyone; free evenings and weekends. For large capacity events, e. g. Charlottesville and University Symphony Orchestra, special shuttles will run directly from here to Old Cabell Hall.
• C-1 Parking Lot, off McCormick Road behind Clark and Bryan Halls. This lot is prioritized for disabled and limited mobility patrons and will require special permits for most events (read more).

In addition, we will have personnel posted around Grounds to assist you for the first few concerts of the season. We recommend leaving extra time to locate the new parking lots and walking routes. Thank you for your patience as we make this transition!

Driving Directions to On-Grounds Parking for Music Events:

Central Grounds Garage

From the north: Follow 29 South through Charlottesville. As you pass Barracks Road Shopping Center, 29 South changes into Emmet Street. Follow Emmet Street through three lights. The fourth light will be at the intersection of Emmet and Ivy. The U.Va. tennis courts will be ahead of you on the left. Stay on Emmet through this intersection. After you pass Lewis Mountain Road on your right, the entrance to the parking garage will be on your left.

From I-64: Take Exit 118B to Charlottesville and then take the next right hand exit (it comes up very quickly). At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto Fontaine Avenue, towards Charlottesville. At the second light, go straight as Fontaine changes into Jefferson Park Avenue. Pass through a blinking yellow light. At the next stoplight, turn left onto Emmet Street. After you pass under two bridges, turn right into the parking garage.

T-4 Scott Stadium Parking Lot

From the north: Follow 29 South through Charlottesville. As you pass Barracks Road Shopping Center, 29 South changes into Emmet Street. Follow Emmet Street through three lights. The fourth light will be at the intersection of Emmet and Ivy. The U.Va. tennis courts will be ahead of you on the left. Stay on Emmet through this intersection. You will pass under two bridges. Immediately after the second bridge, veer right onto Stadium Road while Emmet curves to the left. At the top of the hill, turn right onto Whitehead Road. The parking lot will be on your left.

From I-64: Take Exit 118B to Charlottesville and then take the next right exit (it comes up very quickly). Turn off this exit towards Charlottesville. This will put you on Fontaine Avenue. At the second light, turn left onto Maury Ave. At the four-way stop sign, turn right onto Stadium Road. Turn left onto Whitehead Road, and the parking lot will be on your left.

C-1 Parking Lot

From the north: Follow 29 South through Charlottesville. As you pass Barracks Road Shopping Center, 29 South changes into Emmet Street. Follow Emmet Street through three lights. The fourth light will be at the intersection of Emmet and Ivy. The U.Va. tennis courts will be ahead of you on the left. Stay on Emmet through this intersection. You will pass under a pedestrian overpass. Immediately after this, turn right onto the ramp leading up to McCormick Road. At the top of the ramp, turn left onto McCormick Road. Take the first right onto Cabell Drive, which is the entrance to the parking lot.

From I-64: Take Exit 118B to Charlottesville and then take the next right exit (it comes up very quickly). At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto Fontaine Avenue, towards Charlottesville. At the second light, go straight as Fontaine changes into Jefferson Park Avenue. Pass through a blinking yellow light. At the next stoplight, turn left onto Emmet Street. Take the next right onto Cabell Drive, which is the entrance to the parking lot.
