UVA Flute Ensemble will play a program of music for multiple flutes The UVA Flute Ensemble, Alan Cox, director, will present its Spring Recital on April 3, 2008 at 8 pm in Garrett Hall. The members of the ensemble are Gita Howeth, Mary Anne Kidwell, Michelle Sawwan, and Suzie Wright. The program will feature music for multiple flutes featuring music of many different styles, composed by Quantz, Kuhlau, Briccialdi, Debussy, Bozza, and a premiere of a new piece by the director, Alan Cox. The theme of this program is the avoidance of "flute choir" arrangements. All of these pieces were written expressly for the flute and we present it with pride.
