In this site, you will find information on the 2003
- 2004 series, artist biographies, ticket and subscription
information and a short history of TECS.
Since
1948 the mission of the Series has been to provide the finest
quality chamber music series possible to central Virginia. The
Series acts as a sponsor to present major and emerging talents
on the national and international scene and is a legally and
financially independent organization. The performances take
place in Cabell Hall Auditorium at the University of Virginia,
designed by Stanford White in 1896 and lauded by artists from
around the world for its excellent acoustics and intimate atmosphere.
The Series also enters the 8th year of its related mission to
provide on a regular basis outreach services to school-age children
through cultural activities with artists who have been engaged
for the evening concerts. Nearly 19,000 schoolchildren
have participated in these free events.
