Timothy Allen, Chair of the 2009 Undergraduate Research and Design Symposium announced the winners of this year's competition held at the Rotunda Dome Room on April 29 and nanotechnology placed in two categories.

 

The winner of the individual category (out of 7 finalists):

 

Jonathan Merrell

Title: "Stabilization of aortic aneurysms via delivery of ascorbic acid and retinoic acid through polymeric nanoparticles"

Runner-up in the team category (out of 5 finalists):

 

Linh Nguyen, Margaret Rush, and Yihwa Yang

Title: "Novel nanofibrous scaffolds with adipose-derived stem cells for tissue regeneration"
