Michael J. Citro
Mike Citro graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Master of Education degree in College Student Personnel Administration. While at James Madison University, Mike served as the Coordinator for Fraternity/Sorority Life where he worked directly with the 23 national fraternities and sororities on-campus as well as advised the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils. Most recently, Mike served as the Program Director for the Lancaster County Higher Education Working Group, a multi-campus student engagement and retention initiative based in Pennsylvania. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Order.
Sally L. Kline
Sally Kline graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Political Science and completed a Master of Science degree in Higher Education Administration at Florida State University. After graduating from the University of Washington, Sally worked for Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity Headquarters, consulting at over 20 colleges and universities nationwide. During graduate school, Sally advised the Senior Class Council, as well as worked with the Florida State University Foundation, the Institute on College Student Values, the Journal of College and Character, and the Hardee Center for Leadership and Ethics in Higher Education. Before joining the University of Virginia, Sally worked as the Assistant Director of Greek Affairs at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Vicki L. Hawes
Vicki holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mary Baldwin College and a Master's degree from the Curry School of Education here at the University. Previously an assistant registrar, Vicki was engaged by the Student Council as the first Manager for Off-Grounds Housing in 2003. She conducts workshops and programs to increase educational awareness for our students regarding living independently off the Grounds. She works closely with the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life in maintaining close working relationships with the City of Charlottesville's Office of Neighborhood Development and the Fire Department in conducting annual safety inspection of all fraternity and sorority houses, as well as sustaining strong relationship with the neighborhood associations. Her work with students has been especially recognized by the P.U.M.P.K.I.N Society.
Francis Aaron Laushway
Aaron Laushway provides leadership for the office as associate dean of students and director. He joined the Office of the Dean of Students in 1996. Mr. Laushway took his master of education and doctor of philosophy degrees in counseling from the University in 1984 and 1987, respectively. He also holds the S.T.B. and S.T.L. from the Dominican House of Studies in Washington. He was a 1999 David A Harrison III Award recipient for undergraduate advising. Immediately before returning to the University and becoming the assistant dean who worked most closely with fraternities and sororities, he was a Charles E. Merrill Fellow at The Divinity School, Harvard University. Mr. Laushway also advises the Second and Third Year Councils and the University's chapter of the Golden Key Honour Society. A Fellow of Hereford College, and a member of the Raven Society, Dean Laushway is a brother of the Theta Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity at Virginia and a brother of the Eta Chapter of Zeta Psi Fraternity of North America at Yale.
Michele Monger
After a very diverse career working as a secretary in manufacturing, retail,
mailing services, and marketing, Michele Monger came to the University
in 1991 as a secretary in the Office of the Dean of Students with Shamim
Sisson. In May 1995, she started a position with the School of Architecture's
Office of Development and Alumni relations. After 11 1/2 years, she has
now returned to the Office of the Dean of Students. One of the main reasons
Ms. Monger wanted to return to Student Affairs was to have more interaction
with students and student life.
Christopher L. Wilcox Elliott
Chris Wilcox
Elliott graduated from the University of Delaware with
a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and a Master of Education
degree in Curriculum & Instruction while working in Residence Life. After a brief, yet phenomenal few years working with residential communities and international students at Northern
Arizona University in Flagstaff, he joined the UVA community in 2005 as
an Area Coordinator in the Residence Life Office and Housing Division.
He serves as a co-advisor for the UVA chapter of One in Four, is quite
active in sexual assault prevention and gender awareness work on Grounds,
and he continues to be very interested in programming and leadership development opportunities
for the fraternity and sorority community this year as a doctoral intern with OFSL.
