Proposals should be submitted at least five
business days before the due date. You need to leave sufficient
time for our office to prepare the budget, process forms, copy the proposal,
and gain approval from the School of Engineering and the University's Office
of Sponsored Programs. Proposals that do not meet the five day requirement
for processing will not be guaranteed to meet your deadline!
In addition, delays can potentially occur in our office when we need to
submit multiple proposals for a single deadline. Call our office as soon
as possible to work out a schedule for submission of your proposal.
Please be aware that if you have other schools involved in your
proposal they will require up to 5 days in their school for approvals and signatures.
Additional time is needed: to obtain approvals for human subjects or use
of animals, including determination of costs; if the proposal includes other
divisions of UVA; if you are requesting cost sharing; if conflict of interest
exists; if subcontractors outside of UVA will be participating; other special
circumstances.
Additional time is also needed for grants.gov proposals.
