Alisa Abbott Welcome, new wahoos! Congrats on UVa - get ready for an AWESOME year! My name is Alisa and I'm a rising 3rd year American Studies and Religious Studies major. I transferred from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA after my first year. I'm originally from the Charlottesville area, so I know loads of insider info on fun things to do around Charlottesville and UVa. Coming to UVa has, without a doubt, been the best decision I've ever made. The opporutnities here are endless in multiple spheres of life - academic, social, athletic, etc. I am currently involved in Alternative Spring Break, Third Year Council, Virginia Competitive Cheerleading, University Democrats, Madison House, and a few other organizations. Clearly, it is incredibly easy to jump into an active lifestyle at the University, despite being a transfer - and I can't wait to help you all get acquainted. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions you may have, however trivial you think they may be, or just to grab a bite to eat sometime - I am here to help! Again, Congratulations and welcome to UVa! asa4g@virginia.edu |

Haley Hicks By the time you will be reading this bio, you will have already made the best decision of your life. I am so excited to be a part of your UVa experience! I am a rising third year originally from St. Louis, Missouri. I went all the way to Boston University for my first year of college, but then found my home at UVa. I have great respect for anyone who choses to transfer, and I have made it my goal to share all the secrets and shortcuts I have been able to find to becoming acclimated to UVa life. I think grounds are beautiful, and the libraries are basically my life (don't worry, its not all study) so anytime you call, I will be close by and will jump at the chance to meet you for coffee/newcomb (dining hall=glorious...sometimes)/lounging on the lawn. Talk to you soon! hrh3r@virginia.edu |

Allie Klein Congratulations and welcome to the University of Virginia! My name is Allie Klein and I am a rising third year in the College. I’m a Distinguished Major in History and a Middle Eastern Studies double major, so if you are interested in the History, Politics, or Middle Eastern Languages/Cultures Departments, I’m your girl! Luckily I had a very smooth transition to UVA, and I think this was largely because I took everyone’s advice and got involved right away. I highly recommend that you waste no time meeting fellow ‘Hoos (transfers and non-transfers alike) and begin making your mark on the University through whatever clubs or organizations grab your interest. Get pumped for football games, Bodo’s, and fall orientation! I look forward to meeting you all; feel free to email me about anything, even if just to talk about how excited you are to be a Wahoo! alk4d@virginia.edu |

Adrienne Lester Hello transfers and congratulations on your acceptance! My name is Adrienne and I'm a rising third year studying biology in the College in hopes of studying medicine. I cannot articulate how excited you all SHOULD be. I entered the University with mild trepidation, but after my first semester, I truly felt like I was a part of a community. I've only been a student here since January, so I haven't gotten involved with as much as I would like to. However, the opportunities are endless. My best piece of advice: get involved. Not only does it make your time here more enjoyable, it gives you a reason to procrastinate doing all that homework. I look forward to meeting you all in the fall. Until then... if you have any "silly" questions or just want to chat, email me! all6e@virginia.edu |

Mary Mei Hello transfers! Welcome to the university! Congratulations on coming to UVA and I'd like to share this exciting moment with all of you! My name is Rui Mei and I am a rising third year student who would love to be in Commerce School next fall 07. I grew up in Shanghai, China and I was in Shanghai Jiaotong University and Iowa State University before I transferred here this spring 07. UVA has always been my dream school and I can still remember the day when I got accepted and received a cute UVA postcard with the Rotunda picture from one TSPA and that has become the highlight of my life. So far my college experience here is fascinating. Though I just came this spring, I made every effort to transit as smoothly as I could. In addition of being a TSPA, I've been involved in many activities, such as MIX mentor, International Student Ambassador, Fanatic Magazine, Madison House volunteering and etc. I have worked in the Alderman libarary for spring and I am taking summer classes and work in the bookstore as a cashier at the same time! I guess I am the only international transfer student in the TSPA team and I'd so much like to make you as my friends! If you have any questions, just shoot me an email and I can't wait to see you all! Love UVA! rm7fe@virginia.edu |

Pam Strong (Tri-Chair) Congratulations and welcome, new 'hoos! We're so excited that you are coming to UVA. I'm Pam, a rising fourth-year studying finance and management in the School of Commerce. Last year I was a TSPA and I am thrilled to be a tri-chair for the program this year! I grew up in Massachusetts but my parents live outside of Phildelphia now. I came to UVA after spending my first year at the University of Richmond, and without a doubt it has been the best decision of my life. I love this university and the Charlottesville area-they both have so much to offer. I am on the club field hockey team and a few other things, and keep myself busy with Comm school stuff, and try to spend any free time outside because this university is gorgeous! Football/basketball/baseball/lacrosse games, Foxfield, the Corner and the Downtown Mall are some of my favorite things here. This summer will be my second one spent in Charlottesville, proof that this is a great place to be. I can't wait to meet you all and I'd love to answer any questions you have! pls3e@virginia.edu |

Heather Welborn Holla Back New 'HOOS! My name is Heather Welborn and I'm a rising third year in the college. I'm from Mooresville, NC aka Race City USA, if you follow NASCAR (which I don't but random people come up to talk to me about Mooresville). I'm majoring in History and Germanic Studies. I'm also in the Distinguished Majors Program for History- so if you're thinking about writing a thesis in undergrad (which you should) and have any questions let me know. I'm also on the Women's Rugby Team here and I highly recommend to new Hoos getting involved in something you enjoy here. So, Congrats! And I hope to meet you all in the fall. hrw3f@virginia.edu |

Colleen Wolfe Hey transfers! Welcome to The University! I’m Colleen from Rockville, Maryland and I’m rising third year Art History major with a possible minor in Biology. I transferred here last fall from a small school in Maryland called St. Mary’s College of Maryland. I came into UVA pre-med, so I actually know a lot about the biology and chemistry departments here, but I can also help you with the art and architectural history programs because I’ve been spending a lot more time in those departments lately. I’ve dabbled around in a lot of different extracurricular activities too, so feel free to ask me about them because extracurricular involvement is a pretty popular concept here. I’m really excited to be a TSPA and to introduce you guys to Charlottesville and the surrounding area! Feel free to e-mail me this summer! cmw5v@virginia.edu |
