Welcome to the University of Virginia! Each school, department and program has its own set of welcome and orientation activities for new graduate students. You should be sure to attend all programs as directed by your individual school.

In addition to your school or department, the Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies is a wonderful source of support and information for graduate students.

The University has also recently launched an online Graduate Guide to provide incoming and enrolled graduate students with information about getting settled  in Charlottesville. This comprehensive guide includes a wealth of information about such topics as academics, community service, finding employment, health resources, and housing, among other things.
