The following schedules for summer 2015 will provide you with a general outline of what is covered in your Orientation program. The schedules will be updated continuously throughout the summer.

Session J · Wednesday, August 19

9:00 – 4:00 pm

International Studies Office Open House · Minor 208

Stop by the International Studies Office to meet the ISO staff. Bring your legal documents to be photocopied. Light refreshments will be served.

10:00 – 1:00 pm

Check-In · Ern Commons-Alderman Road Residential Area

Park in the Slaughter Recreation Center lot and then walk over to Ern Commons to sign in, pick up orientation/academic information and your student ID. Move directly into your assigned housing.

UVAExpress. International students and guests participating in Session J can take advantage of UVAExpress, a free, coordinated bus transportation and hospitality program for international students from Dulles International Airport in Washington, and DC to the University of Virginia on Monday, August 17 and Tuesday August 18, 2015 Make sure to register on the UVAExpress website.

The program is coordinated by the University of Virginia's Office of Engagement. It is financially supported by an U.Va. alumnus in Singapore and the U.Va. Parents Committee.

Welcome Dinner for International Students and Parents · Slaughter Recreational Center

International first-year and transfer students and their families are invited to a casual dinner. Hosted by the University’s Office of Engagement, guests will have the opportunity to meet University faculty and staff, key University leaders, new classmates and their families and student leaders.  Please consider public transportation, walking or a taxi. Dean's Address and Course Advising Workshops

Meet with a dean from your school of enrollment to learn about academic requirements. Work with Orientation Leaders and faculty advisors to review your fall course schedule. If available, be sure to bring your credit evaluation of transcripts, SAT II, AP, IB and language placement exam scores

Student Health Medical Records Consultation Hours · Elson Student Health Center, 400 Brandon Ave

Students who have not submitted a Pre-Entrance Health form need to visit Student Health during these hours to turn in your forms. You must have your forms in 2 days prior to any immunization appointment at Student Health.
