The following schedules for summer 2012 will provide you with a general outline of what is covered in your Orientation program.

Session H · Wednesday, August 22

Stop by the International Studies Office to meet the ISO staff. Bring your legal documents to be photocopied. Light refreshments will be served.

Check-In · Aquatic & Fitness Center

Sign in, have student ID photo taken, pick up Orientation and academic information, and then move directly into your assigned housing.

UVAExpress. International students and guests participating in Session H can take advantage of UVAExpress, a free, coordinated bus transportation and hospitality program for international students from Dulles International Airport in Washington, DC and Charlottesville Airport to the University of Virginia on Monday, August 20 and Tuesday August 21, 2012 Make sure to register on the UVAExpress website.

The program is coordinated by the University of Virginia's Office of Engagement. It is financially supported by an U.Va. alumnus in Singapore and the U.Va. Parents Committee.

Welcome Dinner for International Students and Parents · Alumni Hall Ballroom

International first-year and transfer students and their families are invited to a casual dinner at Alumni Hall. Hosted by the University’s Office of Engagement, guests will have the opportunity to meet current students and ask questions of University faculty and staff while enjoying a relaxing evening with fellow classmates and their parents. Please consider public transportation, walking or a taxi. Limited parking is available.

Vaccination Clinic for International Students · Elson Student Health Center

For International Students, Student Health is hosting an Immunization and Tuberculosis Screening Clinic. You must turn in your Pre-Entrance Health form by August 22nd in order for Student Health to determine which immunizations you may need to meet the University’s immunization requirements. If you have not completed your form or presented your documentation by August 22nd, you will not be able to take advantage of this clinic unless you come to Student Health between between August 20th and 22nd.

Mandatory Registration Meeting for International Students with the International Studies Office · Wilson 402

If you are an international student – no matter what your visa status, you must attend this session. Please bring your passport, visa, I-94, and I-20 or DS-2019 (if applicable).
Hear about legal issues concerning your status as an international student.

Failure to attend will result in a course registration block and potential loss of legal status.
