The following schedules from summer 2016 will provide you with a general outline of what is covered in your Orientation program. Summer 2017 schedules will be posted mid-May.
Final Session Parent/Guest · Wednesday, August 17

Check-In · Ern Commons, Alderman Road Residence Area
Park in the Slaughter Recreation Center lot and then walk over to Ern Commons to sign in, pick up orientation/academic information and students will pick up their ID. Following check-in, help your student move directly into his/her assigned housing.
UVA Express. International students and guests participating in the final Orientation Session can take advantage of UVA Express, a free, coordinated bus transportation and hospitality program for international students from Dulles International Airport in Washington, DC to the University of Virginia on Monday, August 15 and Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Make sure to register on the UVA Express website.
The program is coordinated by the University of Virginia's Office of Engagement. It is financially supported by a UVA alumnus in Singapore and the UVA Parents Committee.

Welcome Dinner for International Students and Parents · Slaughter Recreational Center
International first-year and transfer students and their families are invited to a casual dinner. Hosted by the University’s Office of Engagement, guests will have the opportunity to meet University faculty and staff, key University leaders, new classmates and their families and student leaders. Please consider public transportation, walking or a taxi. Limited parking is available.
