Students who are transferring in the fall
semester to the University from another college or university
are expected to attend Summer
and Fall Orientation
programs. In addition, the University sponors a one-day orientation
in January for students who transfer mid-year.
During the
summer, you will have your student ID card made, select classes
and learn about services for students.
Your parents may wish to attend the parallel guest Orientation
program during the summer. If you are absolutely unable to
attend, you will receive information from the Office of Orientation and New Student Programs
regarding how best to prepare for classes in the fall.
You will receive information by mail after
the University receives your acceptance and tuition deposit.
The cost of the undergraduate orientation program will be
included in your fall tuition and fees bill, and includes
the advising, programming and dining costs during
your session. Transfer students needing overnight accommodations at the end of their session (G or H) may take advantage of optional one-night housing in Hereford for an additional $34.50, which can be paid at Check-In.
During Transfer Welcome Week in the fall, you can participate in Project SERVE, a one-day community service event; take a bus tour of Grounds; attend the Transfer Student Garden Party; and much more! There will also be plenty of social events planned by your Transfer Student Peer Advisor throughout the semester, such as apple-picking at Carter's Mountain or attending the Lighting of the Lawn ceremony.
