Student Activities Building (SAB)
Registered guests will pick up Orientation materials while students sign in and have their student ID photos taken. A light breakfast will be available.
Shuttles run from the SAB and Hereford to Old Cabell and Newcomb Halls from 7:45 to 9:30am. |

Welcome Address
Old Cabell Hall Auditorium
A representative from the Board of Visitors and the Vice President and Chief Student Affairs Officer will discuss enduring traditions and new initiatives at the University of Virginia. The Director of Orientation and New Student Programs will give a brief overview of the day. |

Parents as Partners
Old Cabell Hall Auditorium
A representative from the Office of the Dean of Students and two current students will help parents anticipate the U.Va. student experience, understand how the University interacts with students and parents, and determine how best to support their daughter’s or son's transition into the University.

Money Matters
Old Cabell Hall Auditorium
The Director of Student Financial Services and her staff will speak about financial services and resources available to students and families. In addition to providing information about financial aid, this session will offer strategies for parents to help their students manage their money and make wise financial choices. This session is recommended for all parents. |

Health and Wellness at U.Va.
Old Cabell Hall Auditorium
Parents and guests will learn about the many opportunities, services, and resources available to help transfer students maintain a healthy lifestyle while making their transition to the University. A panel of representatives from Student Health, and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will be available to answer questions. |

Check-Out
Student Activities Building (SAB)
Parents should drop off their evaluation forms. Students will pick up their student IDs and turn in evaluation forms. They are also encouraged to register their cell phone numbers for U.Va. Emergency Alerts text messaging. (Note: Students staying overnight must check out the following morning by 11 am at Conference Services in Kent Residence Hall, located on Bonnycastle Circle, off McCormick Road.) |

Parents’ Hospitality and Resource Center
Newcomb Hall Main Lounge
Parents are encouraged to take a few moments to register their e-mail addresses with the University, learn about ways to get involved through UVaFamilies, and meet other parents and University representatives. The center will remain open until 3:30pm as a place for parents and guests to check their e-mail, get something to drink, or read the newspaper. |

Academic and Student Services Resource Fair
Newcomb Hall South Meeting Room
Representatives from a variety of offices, including Student Health, the Office of African-American Affairs, the U.Va. Libraries, University Career Services, the Women’s Center, the U.Va. Parents Committee, and the International Studies Office, will provide information about key student support services and answer questions about academic opportunities available for students. |

University Services Resource Fair
Newcomb Hall Commonwealth Room
Representatives from a variety of business offices, including the Bookstore, Cavalier Advantage, Cavalier Computers, U.Va. Dining Services, the Housing Division, and Information Technology and Communication (ITC), will provide information and answer your questions. The Manager for Off-Grounds Housing will also answer any questions students may have about obtaining off-Grounds housing. |

Student Financial Service staffers will answer questions regarding tuition and financial aid, as well as help families sign up for payment plans. |

Parents and guests can learn more about the nursing program from faculty and ask any outstanding questions. |

McIntire School of Commerce (COMM) Information Session for Parents and Students (July 18 ONLY)

Attendees will learn about the curricula, courses and the application procedures for students interested in entering the School of Commerce. (This session, which was also presented at Days on the Lawn in April, is recommended for both interested students and their family members.) |

Off-Grounds Housing Fair

Speak with various relators who lease apartments within the neighboring Charlottesville community. The Manager for Off-Grounds Housing will also answer any questions students may have about obtaining off-Grounds housing. |

Residence Hall Open House
Transfer students can visit a room in the upperclass residential area Gooch/Dillard. This housing option will offer events coordinated by Resident Staff members and supported by the Transfer Student Peer Advisors (TSPAs). |
