Cherry University Community Relations Office U.Va.’s Community Relations Office builds bridges between the University and the community by engaging in numerous outreach efforts including those with neighborhood associations, nonprofit organizations, area schools, area businesses and area residents. The office promotes public service by extending U.Va.’s expertise into the community. It also encourages volunteer service by linking U.Va. employees and students to outreach opportunities. One of the distinguishing features of Central Virginia is the large number of community organizations that promote healthy lifestyles that encourage prevention and early diagnosis, and that raise money for research.
