Why Should I Add My Program?
OutreachVirginia (OVA) is the University of Virginia's primary website used to promote its commitment to public service and outreach. Thousands of people visit the website each month. Visitors can browse and search for programs of interest to them, read news stories about public service and applied research at U.Va. This website provides descriptions and contact information for each program. OutreachVirginia is a resources that is promoted all across the state of Virginia. It is an excellent marketing opportunity!

This website provides an opportunity for a variety of people to receive information about your public service and outreach program(s). Having your program included is easy. You may enter the information yourself. As your program information changes you can simply edit the information as needed.

Adding Your Program

To add a new public service or outreach program into the OutreachVirginia database click the link below.  Fill in the fields and click the update button at the bottom of the screen.  A confirmation email will be sent to the program contact person. The OutreachVirginia webmaster will then verify your information and add to the database.

Editing Your Program

To edit an existing program type your program name in the search box below.

Choose your program from the list by clicking on the program title.

The next screen will provide you with all the information that is stored in the database regarding your program. 

To make changes to the program profile click the "Edit" link at the bottom of the screen.

The next screen provides editable fields for you to edit.  After making your changes click the submit button at the bottom of the screen.  All changes must be verified by the Outreach Webmaster.  By providing an email address, an alert will be sent notifying you of changes made to your program. Once your program is verified by the OutreachVirginia webmaster all changes will appear on the website.

Q. How do I enter my program into OutreachVirginia?

A. To add a new public service or outreach program into the OutreachVirginia database click the link below.  Fill out the fields and click the update button at the bottom of the screen.  An email will be sent notifying the program contact person that the program was added and is waiting to be verified by the OutreachVirginia webmaster.

Q. How do I know if my program has been submitted?

A. You will receive an email that notifies you that your program is waiting for verification by the OutreachVirginia Webmaster.

Q. How do I change information about my program?

A. To edit an existing program type your program name in the search box below.

Q. I have update my information but why hasn’t it changed on the website?

A. Before a program addition, deletion or change appears on the website it must be verified by the OutreachVirginia Webmaster. Once you have made changes to your program you will receive an email that informs you that the changes were received and are awaiting verification.

Q. How often should I update my program?

A. As often as your information changes.  We ask that program directors review their program information every 6 months to ensure that we are providing accurate information. If you haven't updated your program within 6 months you will receive an email from the OutreachVirginia webmaster asking you to do so. The email will include instructions how to update your information.

Q. What do I do if no information has changed about my program?

A. If the information in the OVA Database is correct, type your program name in the search box.

Choose your program from the program list by clicking on the program title.

This provides you with all the information that is stored in the database regarding your program. 

Click the "Edit" link at the bottom of the screen.

The next screen provides editable fields for you to edit.  If all of the information is correct and up to date click the submit button at the bottom of the screen.  This will update the program modification date to let us know the last time the program information was checked.
