• From June 2006 to June 2007, 7,322 UVa students provided over 304,000 hours of general community service and academic service learning work to the community.
  
  
• 1,630 UVa students engaged in academic service learning and 5,692 in general community service activities.
  
  
• Over 2,300 UVa students provided more than 91,000 hours of service to CNCS' special service area for 2007 which were programs reaching out to disadvantaged youth to help lower dropout rates and prepare them for college.
  
  
• Each week, more than 3,300 UVa students volunteer their time and energy to better the community and themselves through Madison House.
  
  
• In 2007, nearly 1,300 UVa employees volunteered to help with community service projects for the 16th annual United Way Laurence E. Richardson Day of Caring.
  
  
• In 2006-07, 299 students at the School of Law logged more than 13,688 hours of pro bono service.
  
  
• During the 2006-07 academic year, UVa students tutored and mentored more than 1,200 young people through the Day in the Life Program.
  
  
• Nursing students, faculty and staff served more than 14,000 hours of community service locally, regionally and internationally.
