Parking Options

Many parking areas that require a parking permit during the day do not require a permit at night and/or on the weekends. However, some parking lots are converted after 5PM to support special events (i.e. John Paul Jones Arena, Cabell Hall, etc.). Signs are posted at each affected lot in advance of an event that will require the lot to be restricted.

Examples of parking areas that do not require a specific permt after hours:
  • K2: Near South Lawn
  • T4, E3: Scott Stadium
  • A9: Culbreth Road Garage
  • N: McLeod Garage
  • R1: Near Ruffner Hall and Bavaro Hall
  • D2, D3: Near the Law School
  • D1, D10: Near the Darden Graduate School of Business
  • BLUE: Parking lots at U-Hall and the John Paul Jones Arena (click here for event schedule)

Central Grounds Garage

After 5PM the hourly rate in the Central Grounds Garage is discounted to $.50/hour. After 10PM the rate is discounted to $1 for any portion of time between 10PM and 8AM.

Health System Parking Garages and Lots

Medical School students should contact the Dean's Office to inquire about the availability of permits that provide after-hours access to parking garages and lots in the Health System. Employees may contact the Health System Parking Office.
