Alderman Road Residences - Phase III

Due to upcoming construction, the bus stop on McCormick Road near the O-Hill Dining Hall will be relocated EAST, near the O-HILL DINING HALL on Thursday, February 28 through Monday, April 1.
Battle Building, U.Va Children's Hospital

On Friday, June 28, 2013 at 6:00 pm, the vehicular access to the 11th Street Garage and the 1222 JPA Building will change. At that time, the current traffic lanes will narrow down to ONE lane, with EXITING only out of the garage in front of “1222” to JPA. This set up will be maintained for the foreseeable future to accommodate the demolition of the 1224 Building and prepare to rebuild the plaza and new park in front of the Battle Building. This temporary change in traffic plans will continue until approximately March 2014.
All entries to the 11th Street Garage will be via the 11th Street entrance. Drivers may enter and immediately exit to the 1222 Building if they need to drop off family members at the canopy. The driver will then exit to JPA and proceed around the block to park their vehicle in the 11th Street Garage. An RMC person will be available to assist with traffic control and emergency vehicle arrivals.
Parking spaces on Level B of the 11th Street Garage will have a controlled area for “patient assisted parking”. This area will be staffed with RMC and Patient and Guest Services personnel to provide wheel chair and transport assistance to those who need help.
Drama Building Construction

Due to construction associated with the Drama Building, the A18 lot will be closed for the duration of the project. A18 permit holders will be reassigned to the Culbreth Road Garage (A9). McCormick Road Bridge
Dates: 5/20/2013 - TBD
The McCormick Road Bridge will be replaced this summer by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). Since July of 2012, the bridge has been restricted to vehicles weighing less than 8 tons, and thus the University Transit Service has been unable to conduct normal bus operations on University Grounds.
The project to replace the bridge is scheduled to start on May 20, and is expected to be complete by late July. During this time the bridge will be closed to all pedestrian and vehicular traffic. A section of Emmet Street in the bridge vicinity will be closed to traffic the nights of June 17 and 18 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. to install the new bridge's beams. The section will be closed during the same hours of another two-night period in mid-June to install the new bridge's beams.
Message boards and detour signs are being posted by VDOT, and U.Va. has established alternate routes for pedestrians during the closure.
Equipment staging for this project will require a portion of the E3 parking lot at Scott Stadium to be closed from 5:00PM on Sunday, June 16 through 8:00AM on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. E3 permits will be honored in the T4, S6, and remaining E3 spaces near Scott Stadium.
