Health System Employees with Disabilities
A request for close-in parking in the Health System parking areas due to a medical condition and/or disability requires the issuance of a parking permit for the specific Health System lot. Employees must contact the Health System Parking Office (Messenger Mail: Box 800799 or telephone: 434-924-5147) to request the forms required to initiate the approval and issuance of permits based on a medical need. This permit is issued by the Department of Parking and Transportation once the application has been approved. The cost of the permit is $5 less than the current monthly parking fees (view rates). A permit is issued to provide parking in a Health System reserved lot in accordance with a physician's recommendation. If an employee has a DMV issued decal for handicapped parking, a permit for a reserved lot in the Health System area is also required.
