Have you used SafeRide in the past academic year?
6
If you have used SafeRide in the past academic year, how satisfied are you overall with the program?
7
Saferide Concerns
  • Phone line often busy/ line is not picked up
  • Improve reliability of arrival times
  • “Sometimes hard to take in early morning (around 6-6:45am) to clinicals at the hospital for nursing students- possibly have one more van running Tues/Thurs/Fri mornings?”
8
How often do you ride a bicycle around grounds in a given week?
9
If applicable, how satisfied are you with bicycle lanes around grounds?
10
Crosswalks/ Bicycle lanes
  • Concerns that bike lanes end abruptly (Emmett Street and JPA)
  • Update all crosswalks to include lighted paths
  •  Improve safety between bicyclists/motorists along McCormick Road.
  • “The bike lanes are poorly marked. Cars cut across them without looking all the time. Buses cut across them without looking all the time. Drivers are frequently unaware that bikes cannot be passed at any time.”
11
Do you currently hold a UVA parking pass?
12
How often do you park on grounds per week?
13
When do you generally park on grounds?
14
Are you aware of the reduced rates of $0.70/hr. from 5:00 – 10:00 PM and $1.00 flat rate from 10:00 PM – 8 AM at the Newcomb/Central Grounds Garage?
15
Parking Concerns
  • More parking around grounds
  • Increase visibility/advertisements of parking rates/ maps online.
  • Notify students ahead of time if permits for particular lots will be oversold (Bice Lot)
  • Annual parking prices should be lowered (particular concern by Darden students)
  • Some are not clearly labeled on if the parking for a certain type of pass/vehicle is at all times vs. after 5PM.
  • entire parking lots/majority of parking spaces (ex: near Ruffner, libraries) are reserved at all times, but are nearly always empty in the evening--is there a way to reduce the number of reserved spaces or push back the time we can begin to park there (7 PM instead of 5?)
