Impact of Home Football Games on Permit Holders

On football game days, special restrictions are in place in many of the lots near Scott Stadium. Signs on the space or at the entrance of the area will denote whether a football restriction is in place. Lots impacted include but are not limited to:

C1, E1, E3, K2, RED, R1, R2, R6, S0, S6, S9, T3, T4, T5, W1, W5, W6, Z1, Z2, Z4, all metered areas in the area including Gilmer, O’Hill, Aquatics and Fitness Center, Slaughter Recreation Center, Scott Stadium, and all disabled/service/departmental spaces contiguous to these areas. All vehicles must vacate the restricted area by 1AM or as posted on the day of the game. Any vehicle remaining in the restricted lots after the posted time will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.

Permit holders may move their vehicles to University Hall on the Friday afternoon prior to the game. If there is an event at the John Paul Jones Arena on that Friday or Saturday, special instructions will be provided to permit holders. Occasionally, there will be a Thursday night football game. Again, special instructions will be provided to permit holders in this case.

RED Permit Holders - Scott Stadium Garage

RED permit holders parking in the lower level of the Scott Stadium Garage are asked to vacate the left half portion of this level by 1:00AM on the Friday before each home football game. This portion of the garage is used for equipment and personnel loading/unloading in preparation for the home football game.

South Garage Permit Holders

On the days of home football games, South Garage permit holders who are reporting for work are welcome to use their transponder in the South Garage as usual or may use the 11th Street Garage without a transponder.

Students Living Near the Stadium

All S0, S6 and S9 permit holders need to move their cars out of the lots that are reserved on the days of home football games by 1:00am of game day. These vehicles can be relocated to University Hall.  If there is a John Paul Jones Arena event on that Friday or Saturday, special instructions will be provided to permit holders. Occasionally, there will be a Thursday night football game, which will require special instructions being issued to the permit holders.
